Vintage Cupboard Top: Perfect Except the Blue

Vintage Cupboard Top: Perfect Except the Blue

Sometimes you find a wonderful piece of furniture, except something feels “off”. This was the case with this amazing cupboard top I discovered a few weeks ago.

The exterior was gorgeous! Just enough of the original wood contrasting with the white paint.; beautiful original hardware; solid construction.

The interior was pretty amazing too. Just look at that chippy goodness in the back!

Those shades of green are amazing! But then someone went and painted the interior doors and shelves blue.

Now, you know I just adore light blue paint on furniture, but this blue didn’t quite work with the back panel AT ALL. I loved the idea of the solid paint color up against the chippy back, but it needed to be green.

I had some leftover Fusion Mineral Paint in “Brook” from painting my kitchen cabinets, so I decided to brush on a coat. And viola!

Look how beautifully the solid green compliments the back!

It only took about fifteen minutes and one coat of paint to give this cupboard a more cohesive appearance.

I wish all of my projects were this easy and straight forward, but then again, I always enjoyed a good challenge! We’ll see how the next one goes!!
